Lahore: At least 13 people were killed and several injured when a suicide bomber blew him self up at Urdu Bazar in Lahore.
Police and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured to Meo Hospital Lahore and other nearby hospitals while an emergency was declared in the hospitals.
Police and security officials cordoned off the area and vacated the blast site to avert any further such incident.
Sources said that four police officials were among the dead.15 injured were said to be in critical condition.
Capital City Police Officer(CCPO) Aslam Tarin told media that police personnel were targeted in the attack, adding that an unknown youth was being frisked by the police when the blast occurred killing nine and injuring 33 people on the spot.

it may be mentioned here that strict security arrangements were made in view of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain R.A. and a Chehlum procession was on its way on a road situated near the blast site.
Moreover, A large number of people were also gathered at Data Darbar to observe anniversary of the saint, near the blast site.
