Karachi: As the government has allowed onion export to India, price of the commodity registered sharp increase in local markets and now the commodity is being traded at Rs40 to 60.
About two weeks ago, when the onion price increased phenomenally in the local market, the government banned the commodity’s export to India. Following the ban, onion price decreased drastically in the local market.
However, the government again allowed export of the commodity to India which jacked up the price in local market. In Karachi, onion is being traded at Rs60-70 per kg, while it price shot up to Rs40 per kg in Lahore, which was available at Rs23 per kg just two days ago
