Karachi: Intelligence agencies have submitted their report for alleged suicide bombings and acts of terrorism, which occurred in 2010, to higher governmental authorities.
The report has calculated 805 kilo of explosives used in two alleged suicide bombings, while rest were declared to be planted bombings, killing 71 persons and wounding more than 260.
1190 persons were reported killed in a series of target killings, during which 9mm pistols and while committing ethnic, and political murders, while 30mm weapons were used in sectarian killings.
Among some notable incidents, included Chehlum carnage, which involved a series of simultaneously conducted within a spate of two hours, and were audaciously aimed at singular target of Shiite pilgrims. Initially their bus was bombed with 15 kilo of explosives, killing 12 and wounding dozens; while on the same day, 13 of the wounded, who were admitted to Jinnah Hospital were killed by another 15 kg of explosives. Overall 75 persons were reported as injured in these two bombings.
Among others the shrine of the revered Muslim saint, Abdullah Shah Ghazi was also targeted by suicide bombers on 07th Oct with 20 kg of 2 simultaneous explosions, killing 16 and wounding more than 70.
Bombing in CID office of Civil Lines area, termed as the Sindh biggest ever in its history, while Pakistan’s second biggest bombing, resulted in death of 10 policemen, and 12 citizens, while wounding 100including women and children. The CID building was razed to rubble, while dozens of vehicles were also destroyed.
The explosion, using 95% RDX and 5% TNT blocks, was unique in the sense that it did not ignite fire, and created a 13 feet deep and 26 feet wide crater.
The explosion was so intense that everything within 300 meters was damaged, while traces of explosives were discovered in all things within 1-kilometer range. Reports by CID claim that the explosive circuit included rocket bombs, mortars and hand grenades
