LAHORE: Parents of senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Javed Iqbal, were killed in an alleged dacoity resistance on late Tuesday night in the Pakistan’s largest province Punjab.
Police said the incident took place in the Cavalry ground area of Lahore when unidentified burglars entered into the house of Abdul Hameed, the father of Justice Iqbal, and after facing resistance they killed the couple.
The Capital City Police Officer, Lahore, has also confirmed the incident. Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area, collected evidences, arrested the street guard and started investigation.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Federal Law Minister Babar Awan and newly-appointed Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa reached the spot.
Talking to the media, Khosa said that the victims were killed after putting pillows on their mouths.
