Islamabad: Falling temperature and dense fog have gripped the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi bringing visibility at zero and disrupting several international and domestic flights at the Benazir International Airport.
The Met department has forecast that fogy conditions would prevail in the twin cities and different parts of Punjab and Khyber Pukhtunkhwa unless rain hits the region.
Meanwhile, at least seven international flights to and from the Islamabad airport were affected due to dense fog and lower visibility. Some flights were diverted to Lahore airport. Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway was also closed to avert any accident.
The thick fog has also affected rail traffic in the country as several trains are delayed due to fog in Punjab and Sindh.
