KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan on Sunday said that Pakistanis do not accept the slavery of United States and India at any cost.
Prominent politico-religious party, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has organised ongoing protests against US drone strikes and continuation of NATO supplies via public march in Karachi.
While addressing the public march in Karachi, JI chief claimed that blockage of NATO supplies to foreign troops in Afghanistan to be done in peacefully.
Hasan alleged that foreign policy of the United States is completely established on anti-Muslim agenda.
The JI’s top leader urged the ruling political party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), voters to question Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for not stopping drone attacks.
He reiterated the stance the leaders of several political and religious parties regarding the US spy plane strikes considered as the attack on the country’s sovereignty.
Hassan vowed to support PMLN-led federal government if they take significant steps for blocking drone attacks and NATO supplies.
Thousands of protesters were seen in the event organised by politico-religious party JI in the metropolis of Pakistan; the activists hold slogan with anti-US comments while people continuously demanded via shouting for firing down the US spy plane entering in the boundaries of Pakistan.
Woman activists of the political parties also participate in large number including women wings of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami.
Strict security arrangements were made during the public march in the metropolis in order to void the major terrorism bids.
Prominent leaders who addressed the participants of the public event include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Arif Alvi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Sahibzada Abu-ul-Khair and many other senior leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).
JI chief Munawar Hasan severely criticised the top leadership of the country and termed their silence over the plane attacks with fear of US.
He reminded the promises of US government made in past from the Pakistani government as well as the recent statement of Pakistan’s Special Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sirtaj Aziz, in which he told the government officials that no drone attacks will be carried out in the country anymore.
Hasan said that US government fraudulently made promises with the Pakistani government each and every time.
He urged the federal government of Pakistan to put the drone attacks and NATO supplies issues in top priority for resolving it in minimum time.
‘Despite focusing on the national issues, Pakistani government is preparing to give Most Favourite Nation (MFN) status to India.’, Hasan added.
Large-scale protests sparked across the country after the last US drone attack in Hangu on a Islamic school, Madarrasa, situated in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.
PTI KPK also paying sit-ins on different spots on Sunday (today) from where NATO supply containers went off to Afghanistan.
