Islamabad: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday barred Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s Sindh chief and Federal minister for privatisation Ghous Bux Mahar from his post citing unknown reasons.
The Federal government has withdrawn the ministry notification after which the PML-Q leader is no more the Federal minister for privatization.
Reacting on this, Mahar told the media that he has given the resignation himself owing difference with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and not been expelled by the premier.
“I submitted my resignation to PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on 31st October,” former minister said.
Mahar was elected member of National Assembly in 2002 elections from NA-203, Shikarpur-II, Sindh. He has remained MPA Sindh four times in 1977, 1985, 1988 and 1993.
He also held the post of Speaker of Sindh Assembly from 1993 till February 1997 and held the charge of Acting Governor several times during the period of 1994-1996.
MNA from Sindh, an agriculturist by profession, was also the member of the Federal Cabinet as Minister of Narcotics Control and previously held the portfolio of Railways.
