Punjab: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Zulfiqaar Khan Khosa has announced that pillion riding in Punjab will be banned from tomorrow (Friday) morning until the 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram.
About mobile phone restriction in the province, he said that he hasn’t yet received any such directive from Interior Minister, Rehman Malik.
Khosa said that security will further be tightened in the most populous province of the country. He informed that personnel of Pak Army and Rangers have been sought for sensitive areas of Punjab.
The decision of banning pillion riding has been announced in view of the sensitivity of law and order in the sacred month of Muharram.
‘Ban from 9th Muharram’
Meanwhile, spokesman of Punjab government has said that the ban is from 9th and will continue until 10th Muharram.
