Srinagar: In disputed Kashmir, the police have once again intensified crackdown against peaceful protesters by detaining 109 persons and slapping draconian law, Public Safety Act, on 17 people in the last month of January.
The police during their continued house raids arrested the youth from Srinagar, Baramulla, Islamabad, Shopian, Pulwama and Doda districts. Of those detainees, at least 16 residents of Srinagar, Shopian, Islamabad and Doda districts were detained under draconian law, Public Safety Act.
