Islamabad: Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila has been appointed as Chief of Naval staff.
He has been promoted to the post of Admiral from vice Admiral. A notification has also been issued in this regard.
Asif Sandila will take charge of the Pakistan Navy after Admiral Noman Bashir will retire from the post on Oct 8.
Meanwhile  Sandila met President Asif Ali Zardari here on Wednesday .
 He was promoted from Rear Admiral to the rank of Vice Admiral in Pakistan Navy on January 1st 2010.
