Disciplined bowling effort from Sri Lankan bowlers restricted Australia to 273 in their first innings of their first test at Galle International Stadium. They kept taking wickets at regular intervals and never allowed the Australians to build any major partnership. The five extras that they yielded included no wides, no no balls.
Lakmal and Herath took three each while Randiv got two. Dilshan got Hussey, the last man out who scored 95 including seven fours and three sixes.
The Australian batsmen got out after getting good starts. Watson fell at 22, Ponting 44, Clarke 23, Khwaja 21 and Haddin 24.
Sri Lanka will open their innings on the second day.
