Lahore: Dozens of villages in suburb of Mian Channun and Nankana were inundated after flood in Ravi.Crops of cotton, rice and vegetables on thousands of acres have been devastated. The affectees complain they are getting no assistance from the government and were evacuating to safety on their own, reported a private TV channel.
Neither any government official nor any representative of the people (MP) visited the stranded people who are facing starvation and hunger.
Likewise, dozens of villages along the Ravi have been inundated. Its worst near Mandi Faizabad.
Some affectees said even their livestock faces starvation since fodder is not available. A number of houses and huts have collapsed. Electric polls have also fallen flat under the pressure of water.
Thousands of people are forced to live under the open sky. It is pitiable to report that no medical camp has been set up in the calamity-hit areas.
