Quetta: At least four people were killed and seven others injured in a blast near bypass in Jafarabad district, sources said on Thursday.
The sources said that the blast occurred near a hotel, adding that explosive material was planted in a motorcycle, apparently targeting a convoy of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL).
The sources said that the dead and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where five of the injured were said to be in critical condition, however it was yet not clear whether the dead and injured were officials of the OGDCL or passersby.
Police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. Police officials said the blast occurred due to remote control device.
