KARACHI: Marium Mukhtar, the female co-pilot of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) who died near Mianwali in a fighter plane crash during a training mission has been laid to rest with full military honour on Wednesday.
High ranked officials of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Director General Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar attended her funeral prayers.
All of them praised her sacrifice and said that Mariam is pride of Pakistan.
Earlier Yesterday, Her funeral prayer was offered at Faisal Air Base Karachi late Tuesday night after her flag-draped coffin was flown on a military C-130 plane from Mianwali to Faisal Air Base. The body was received by PAF’s Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and other officers.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Shareef commended the courage of the brave Flight Officer and paid rich tributes for her invaluable service.
Squadron Leader, Atiq-ur-Rehman, led the funeral prayers. Family members, close relatives and PAF officers offered the funeral prayer.
