Karachi: Wall chalking demanding separate province for Mohajir community is against the interest of Pakistan and Sindh.
Addressing the three day conference of Professional Youth Assembly, composed of universities and colleges students, its Chief Minister Sindh said that the chalking is being condemned by all the students.
In a resolution presented during the 3 days conference it was said that the youth reject this hatred spreading chalking.
Youths demanding immediate attention of the government on the Thar Coal project, they further demanded that the educational standards be brought up to the international level.
Previously in a resolution brought forward by Nazia Amin Fahim it was demanded that a debate be initiated on “media and national interests”.
Talking to the representative of the News Tribe, the organizer of the conference Zamir Awan, said that the purpose of the conference was to orient the people with the role of media and deliberating on the responsibility of media in improving the image of Pakistan internationally.
The concluding conference was attended by the Senior Vice President of the National Bank Amir Abbasi , journalists including Dawn’s Shamim-ur-Rehman.
PML-N’s leader Nihal Hashmi addressing the conference said that the media needed to realize its responsibility and underline its limit. He also said that when we follow the developed world, the media should also learn ethics from them. He said that the print and electronic media should play its role in promoting national harmony and interests’ of Pakistan. He was of the view that the media should keep its matter transparent and pay taxes.
The view of the conference participants was that in order to fulfill our responsibility of national development, it is imperative that we elevate ourselves by enhancing our thinking and not through our actions.
