KARACHI: Former chief of Citizen-Police Liaison Committee Jameel Yousuf on Tuesday alleged that incumbent management of CPLC severed a serious blow to the credibility of the organisation by politicizing it.
Talking to private Geo News TV channel, Yousuf said that the incumbent hierarchy distributed national awards generously on the basis of personal like and dislike, by ignoring hard-working members and employees. This trend discouraged the hard-working and honest employees and members of the CPLC.
Yousuf, who is a renowned security analyst, said that the CPLC’s credibility was hit hard by the internal controversies and politicisation.
He also lashed out at incumbent CPLC chief for giving public ransom for release of Pakistanis held by Somali pirates, saying that it gave a negative message not only at home but at international level. Yousuf was also critical of paying money for release without following relevant regulations and standards.
