Faisalabad: Rawalpindi Rams cruised into the final of the Faisal Bank Super Eight Twenty20 Tournament by defeating defending champion Lahore Lions in the first semifinal at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Thursday.
Rawalpindi Rams’ captain Sohail Tanvir won the toss and elected to bat first. Rawalpindi Rams scored 186 runs for the loss of four wickets in allotted 20 over for the loss of four wickets.
Jamal Anwar scored 67 runs while skipper Tanvir scored 60 runs not out. Awais Zia scored 29 runs.
Aizaz Cheema, Ammad Ali, Saad Nasim and Imran Ali shared one wicket each.
Lahore Lions scored 139 runs for the loss of nine wickets in allotted 20 overs. Adnan Rasool scored 41 runs while skipper Mohammad Yousuf scored 36 runs. Aamer Sajjad and Ahmed Shahzad scored 19 and 13 runs respectively.
Raza Hasan, Samiullah and Mohammad Rameez shared two wickets each while Sohil Tanvir and Umer Ameen got one wicket each.
Jamal Anwar declared man of the match.
