ISLAMABAD: Newly-appointed Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan will take oath of his office at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
According to sources in Election Commission of Pakistan, it received the appointment notification of new CEC.
They said that the oath taking ceremony of the CEC will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm. The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk will administer the oath to Sardar Raza Khan at a simple but impressive ceremony.
It is to be mentioned here that the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment of CEC had finalised the name of Justice Sardar Raza Khan with consensus for the constitutional slot.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and and Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah had earlier recommended three names to the committee including Justice Sardar Raza Khan, former Justice Tariq Pervez Khan and former Justice Tanveer Ahmed.
However, the committee evolved consensus on the name of Justice Sardar Raza.
