ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Saddiq has said that now he has left with no other option but to write to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding what Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members NA did today.
The Speaker was talking to media outside the Parliament House. He said that as a Speaker he is bound to confirm the reasons for resignation by asking MNAs individually.
Ayaz said that he waited from 11:00 am till Maghrib prayers on Wednesday for PTI’s members of the national assembly.
He cited legal and constitutional provisions for confirmation of any member resignation.
The Speaker said he will not give any political statement on the matter adding that as per law resignation must be addressed to Speaker.
