LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has summoned 26 politicians including Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan and former President Asif Ali Zardari on June 16 in a case regarding foreign assets.
Justice Khalid Mehmood heard the case of overseas assets held in the LHC.
The court was told that the concerned parties had not received notices. In response, Mehmood ordered to publish advertisements of those who refused to receive the court notice.
Mehmood said that if politicians bring back their $200 billion, kept in banks abroad, then Pakistan can easily pay off all the debts.
The court has summoned 26 politicians including Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Kulsoom Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz in person on June 16 in the foreign assets’ case.
