Pinterest is experimenting with GIFs and soon you can pin them as well along with your routine pictures and snaps.
Currently, this feature is allowed to selected pinners and they can upload GIFs and play them within the platform.
Pinterest was never compatible with GIFs and whenever any user uploaded a GIF, it used to present it as a still image. And user had to follow the original link of the pin to view the GIF.
Now there will be a small play button available on every GIF, users can play and pause any GIF on Pinterst using that button.
A Pinterest spokesperson has confirmed that the website is experimenting with the GIFs.
“We’re always working on ways to help people discover and save the things they love, which can include animated GIFs. We’ve heard from the community that they’d like the ability to post and view GIFs as Pins, so we’re testing ways to make that happen,” said the spokesperson in a statement.
For now, this feature is available to limited users only but chances are that this feature will be available to all soon.
