Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday has expressed utmost displeasure over statements issued by the Federal Interior Minsiter Chaudhry Nisar in which he said that the ECP should be held answerable for not being able to ensure the use of magnetic ink during the general elections 2013.
Ishtiaq Khan, Secretary General of the ECP said that the magnetic ink was used according to the standand of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
He said that around 4.5 million pads were used of magnetic ink which were distributed through the provincial election commissioners.
Khan said that the statements of the Interior Ministry were baseless and not reflected the true picture.
