Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government now all set to hold sit-in against US drone attacks outside Parliament House and to protest outside the US embassy in Islamabad today.
KPK cabinet held a meeting under the chair of Chief Minister Pervez Khatak on Friday to review the arrangements of holding protests against the US drone strikes. The meeting also decided to write the Federal Government against the attacks.
The cabinet also constituted a three-member committee, comprising provincial ministers Shah Farman, Inayaullah and Sharam Tarakzai, to contact leadership of various political parties for participation in the protest rallies.
According to the reports, coalition partners including ministers, assistants, special assistants and MPAs will march towards the US Consulate in Peshawar.
Political workers of different parties, including PTI and JI, have arrived in Peshawar from across the country to participate in today’s sit-in.
Advisor to CM Shiraz Paracha said the government will go all out to lodge a peaceful protest on international and national levels. Paracha added the protests were not violent; a clear example of civilized democracy.
