Ipoh, Malaysia: Pakistan hockey team along with two others contestants is in a race to secure position in the 20th Sultan Azlaan Shah Hockey Tournament final on Saturday.
According to officials, Friday is the rest day in the ongoing tournament and the remaining three matches will be played on Saturday. In the first match, South Korea to face the United Kingdom, green shirts to take on Malaysia while the world champion Australia will be playing against New Zealand in the third game.
Australia has already moved into the final with 13 points.
To reach the final, Pakistan and Britain will try to win their matches with a big margin.
Both the teams are equal on the points table but Britain is better on goal average.
If both the teams lose their matches and New Zealand beats Australia then Kiwis will qualify for the final. In other case, if Pakistan win their match with a big lead against Malaysia and Britain lose its game to South Korea then green shirts will qualify for the final.
Earlier on Thursday, Australia beat Britain by 2-1, New Zealand defeated India by 7-3 and Malaysia registered its first win in the tournament against Korea by 3 goals to one.
