KARACHI: Federal Government has delayed decision to change Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan.
According to the sources, the decision of not changing the governor is for temporary basis until operation in Karachi gets completed. Earlier, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM)’s Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan was to be replaced by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s representative.
On the other hand, MQM claims that it has nothing to do with the Governor retaining his spot. Muttahida further claimed that in current scenario as Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan is effectively representing federal. So these claims are meaningless.
Earlier, news was circulating regarding PML- N Sindh member Mumtaz Bhutto, who one year ago merged his political party SNF with PML Nawaz. For this purpose, it was rumoured that he was called by Nawaz Sharif while law and order situation in Karachi.
Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan currently holds the office for longest time and has also had a record of being youngest governor to hold office in 2002.
