LAHORE: Rejecting Punjab government’s proposed changes in the local bodies, joint opposition has asked for revising proposed local bodies laws in the province.
Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Jamaat e Islami and Pakistan Muslim League-Q have jointed rejected the bill proposed by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in the provincial assembly of Punjab.
The have recommended to conduct local bodies election on political basis.
“The chief minister should not have the authority to suspend or fire a mayor. Similarly, issues pertaining to peace should be transferred to mayor.”
Earlier, PTI and JI have jointly demanded to avoid passing of local bodies bill in the assembly in any haste terming it a sensitive issue to be discussed.
