ISLAMABAD: Pakistan federal government has announced assistance for flood victims as ministers visited flood affected areas in Narowal and Pasroor.
Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Zahid Hamid has visited flood affected areas in Narowal and Pasroor and announced to provide maximum support for the victims.
After visiting flood affected Narowal district, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal directed the local authorities to speed-up the work for pumping out flood waters from the areas.
Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal assured that the government will provide every possible assistance for the rehabilitation of the affected people.
Meanwhile, Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid visited villages swamped due to flood in Pasroor city of Sialkot district and announced support to flood victims on behalf of government.
In Gujrat‚ protected embankment of Nullah Alsee has broken due to flood and inundated a number of villages.
Embankment of Nullah Dek near Nathranwali in Kamoke also breached resulting into inundation of paddy crops on hundreds of acres of land.
River Indus at Tarbela‚ River Chenab at Khanki and River Kabul at Nowshera are in low flood.
According to the Flood Forecasting centre Lahore‚ rest of major rivers are flowing normal.
