ISLAMABAD: Chief Observer of the EU Election Observation Mission said that media coverage was given to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) during Election 2013 held on May 11.
While talking in a press conference on Wednesday, Michael Gahler said that Pakistan media is independent and vote rigging allegations were started from the day first.
The delegation added that Pakistan’s agencies does not influence the electoral process in Pakistan and Election 2013 is much better as compare to Election 2008.
European observers revealed that important records pertaining election were not available at ECP side while on results compiling process was extremely slow.
He said that equal rights were not provided to all candidates in election and some nomination papers of some candidates were accepted from one constituency while dismissed from others.
European delegation has compiled a detailed report regarding the elections in Pakistan.
European experts who monitored election 2013 of said that Election Commission of Pakistan did not perform his responsibilities completely while returning officers were changed in last time in many constituencies.
The EU’s chief observer said that European delegation was present in Pakistan’s election during March 3 till 4 and independently monitored the event in 184 constituencies.
