Islamabad: Facing tough questions from judges of the apex court, petitions of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Jamaat e Islami have been rejected by Supreme Court regarding rigging in general elections.
“You have boycotted the election, then why are filing rigging petition,” Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry asked JI.
“The decision might of political nature,” he further observed.
JI had filed petition against rigging in Karachi while Abrarul Haq’s petition was against rigging on Narowal seat of national assembly.
Following arguements from counsels of both the parties, the judges dismissed the petitions.
