Quetta: Several people were injured in a explosion in livestock market near Quetta city of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, rescue sources said.
The sources said that casualties were feared. They added that the incident occurred some 15 kilometre away from Quetta.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Quetta has been a flashpoint for attacks against Shiites, in particular those from the ethnic Hazara minority, as well as suffering from attacks linked to a separatist insurgency.
Quetta is the capital of the province of Balochistan, one of the most deprived parts of Pakistan but rich in natural gas and mineral deposits on the Afghan and Iranian borders.
In Thursday’s attack over 90 people including 86 Shiites were killed in the city when two bombs hit a snooker club.
