Karachi: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz, most honourable civilian award of the country, on Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad.
Ishratul Ebad, who is affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), is the longest serving governor of the province. He took up the post on December 27, 2002 becoming the youngest governor to hold the office.
The president conferred the award during a meeting with the governor at Bilawal House, Karachi.
Earlier, Dr Ishratul Ebad, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah visited Quaid Mausoleum, the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, in Karachi on Tuesday.
They offered Fatiha and laid floral wreaths at the final resting place of the founder of the country as the nation is observing the 136th birth anniversary of Jinnah.
