Lahore: Karachi Zebras fan were left in despair as their team faced another miserable defeat against weaker opponent Multan Tigers by 17 runs in a Group A match played at Lahore City Cricket Association Ground on Thursday.
Zebras won the toss and opted to field first, going on to field with optimistic mind to bowl out Tigers early and chase a small total but opener Zain Abbas foiled their hopes as he scored 46 of 42.
With important innings of Gulraiz Sadaf (22) and Saeed Anwar jnr (39), Multan managed to get 140 in 20 overs.
In reply, Karachi Zebras began with a poor start as both their openers got out without contributing anything.
Javed Mansoor (35), Saeed Bin Nasir (27) and Rameez Aziz (29) showed some resilience but other batsman got failed in front of lethal bowling spell by Rahat Ali who took 4 of 14 in less than 4 overs. Zebras were bundled out to 123 giving Rahat Ali the player of the match award.
