Karachi: Two successive blasts near an Imambargah killed three people and injured several, including security officials and journalists, on Wednesday in Orangi Town area of financial hub of Pakistan, Karachi.
The second blast occurred about half an hour later near the site of the first blast at the time when police personnel and TV reporters were present at the scene.
The second blast did not contain ball bearings as like the first one and was relatively less intense, according to the Bomb Disposal Squad.
The first blast, which according to Deputy Inspector General West Javed Odho was planted in a motorcycle (pictured above), killed three people.
Several shops adjacent to the Imambargah were destroyed.
Rescue officials shifted the dead and the injured to local hospitals.
Hospital sources said that ball bearings were found penetrated into the bodies of the injured.
Police and Rangers officials have cordoned off the area, pushing back the crowd and journalists after the second blast.
