New York: Calling for immediate stoppage of Israeli air attacks on Palestinian city Gaza, Pakistan condemns strongly Israel’s new anti-Palestinian offensive in the Gaza Strip.
According to APP, official news agency of Pakistan, the demand came in a emergency session of Security Council, on Wednesday night to demand an immediate cessation of its military action.
“Ambassador Masood Khan, the permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN, told the 15-member Council that the deadly Israeli offensive of more than 20 airstrikes in Gaza in which Hamas’s military commander was among the 11 people killed, threatened international peace and security,” APP reported.
He threatened that such offensive strikes could put international peace and security on threat.
The envoy termed killings in Israeli attacks as ‘targeted killings’ killing a number of Palestinian people including children.
APP further quoted him saying “These are senseless killings,” he is understood to have told the Council. The Israeli retaliation is excessive, the response disproportionate.”
Khan also called for stopping firing rockets from Gaza strips into Israel.
He demanded of the Security Council to ask Israel to immediately cease its excessive military action.
