Karachi: Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, on Friday heavily criticised the Pakistan’s apex court decision of striking down the new law of contempt and said that the decision was a continuation of Judicial martial law in the country.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday declared new Contempt of Court law null and void and ruled various sections of the law as contradictory to the Constitution.
Talking to media on Friday, the information minister said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan is the apex court of the country and it should know that President of Pakistan enjoys immunity under article 248 of the constitution.
The PPP leader further said that under article 248 no one could exercise the authority to write a letter to Swiss Courts.
