Islamabad: General John Allen, the top United States Commander in Afghanistan, for the second time in a week has arrived here in Pakistan on Sunday.
Pakistan suspended NATO supplies following an attack on the Salala check post by NATO forces on November 26 last year.
On Wednesday, Allen had held talks with Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and discussed attacks taking place on Pakistani check posts from militants’ crossing over from the Afghan border.
Sources said that the top US Commander would meet Pakistan Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and other military officials.
“The US Commander has arrived Pakistan to discuss the issues regarding the reopening of Nato supplies and the issues relating to it,” they said.
The sources said that John Allen would also discuss regarding the issues regarding the apology and the sovereignty of Pakistan.
They further said that from the successive meetings it seemed that soon an announcement regarding the re-opening of the supplies is imminent.
