Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army’s rescue work continued on 16th day to recover 135 people, mostly soldiers in the Siachen, sources said.
The sources said that the rescue teams, changing the operation strategy, started digging the whole glacier instead of six particular points after the recovery of some life jackets, pieces of Igloo and medicines on Saturday.
The sources further said that despite weather had once again turned very cold due to overcast conditions and chilling winds, the teams kept on rescue activities in Gyari sector. “The rescue teams are hoping for a major success today in the operation,” the sources added.
Over 500 rescue workers including military and civilians along with 25 Heavy Machines are employed on the search.
