Federal Educational Institutes Change Timings Amid Severe Heatwave

Islamabad: In response to the escalating risk of a heatwave, the timings of federally-run educational institutions have been revised.

Secretary of Education Mohiuddin Wani announced that, effective immediately, these institutions will operate from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM until the commencement of summer vacations.

The decision aims to safeguard students and teachers from the soaring temperatures. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted hot and humid conditions, particularly in Karachi, with daytime temperatures expected to reach up to 38 degrees Celsius and a heat intensity between 41 to 42 degrees Celsius.

The heatwave conditions are anticipated to affect most parts of the country, especially Punjab and Sindh, starting Tuesday. Farmers are advised to take extra precautions and plan their agricultural activities accordingly. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) also urged the public to take necessary safety measures to cope with the extreme weather.
