Karachi: Bullish trend persists at Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) as benchmark index hits historic high of 68,000.
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed another historic milestone on Thursday as its key benchmark index, the KSE-100, surged to unprecedented levels, crossing the 68,000 mark for the first time in its history.
At 12:08 pm, the KSE-100 index soared to 68,269, marking a remarkable increase of 398.2 points or 0.59%. Earlier in the session, it peaked at an intra-day high of 68,362.35, reflecting the strength of the ongoing bullish wave.
The surge in the index was primarily fueled by robust buying activity, particularly in the energy sector, with prominent names like Engro, SHEL, PSO, and NBP witnessing significant gains.
Wednesday’s trading session also saw notable gains, with the cement and steel sectors leading the rally. The benchmark closed at 67,756 after registering an impressive gain of nearly 900 points.
The continued upward trajectory of the KSE-100 index underscores investor confidence in the Pakistani market and reflects positive sentiment driven by both domestic and global factors.
