New Zealand Announces Squad for T20 Series Against Pakistan

Wellington: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced the squad for the upcoming five-match T20 series against Pakistan, revealing a lineup marked by significant absences due to Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments.

New Zealand’s top players are unavailable IPL commitments and county cricket are unavailable, while Michael Bracewell will captain the Kiwi team for the first time.

For the Pakistan tour, the squad includes captain Michael Bracewell, Finn Allen, Jacob Duffy, Mark Chapman, Ben Lister, Josh Clarkson, Jimmy Neesham, Dane Foxcroft, Ash Sodhi, Cole McConchie, and Tom Seifert.

Notably, several top-ranking New Zealand players will miss the tour due to their IPL commitments. Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, and Colin Munro are among those unavailable for selection. Will Young is engaged in county cricket.

According to New Zealand Cricket, Tom Latham is unavailable due to domestic commitments, while Tim Southee has been rested for the Pakistan tour under workload management.

New Zealand Squad for the Series: The squad comprises Michael Bracewell (captain), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Jacob Duffy, Dean Foxcroft, Ben Lister, Cole McConchie, Adam Milne, Jimmy Neesham, Will O’Rourke, Tim Robinson, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, and Ish Sodhi.

It should be noted that the series of five T20 matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin on April 18.
