Lahore: The announcement of the national cricket squad for the T20 series against New Zealand is likely to be made in a day or two.
In this regard, a meeting was held yesterday between Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Captain Babar Azam along with selectors. Consultations are underway between the acting white-ball captain and national selectors to finalize the names for the national squad for the T20 series against New Zealand at the Kakul Academy.
The players under consideration include Captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Amir, Zaman Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Abbas Afridi, Waseem Junior, Naseem Shah, Azam Khan, Irfan Niazi, Imad Wasim, and Usama Mir.
According to sources, Haris Rauf could not fully recover, but he will continue rehabilitation, while an assessment of the hand injury of opening batter Fakhar Zaman is being conducted.
