Lahore: The new administration of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to change the captaincy of the Pakistan cricket team.
According to sources, it has been decided to reinstate former captain Babar Azam, and the board will officially announce it in a few hours.
According to sources, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been recommended by the selection committee to appoint Babar Azam as captain.
According to sources, Shaheen Afridi is considering stepping down from captaincy in light of the PCB’s decision. While sources close to Shahid Afridi have advised him against stepping down from captaincy.
Sources say that Babar Azam will lead Pakistan in the series of 5 T20 matches against New Zealand and will participate in the training camp in Karachi as captain.
It is noteworthy that under Babar Azam’s captaincy, Pakistan has won 42 out of 71 T20 matches and lost 23.
