JIT Report Confirms Data Theft of 2.7 Million Pakistanis from NADRA

Islamabad: In a joint investigation, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has confirmed the data theft of 2.7 million Pakistanis from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

According to details, the data of citizens was stolen from NADRA between 2019 and 2023, and then transferred from Multan to Peshawar and then to Dubai. Evidence of the sale of data in Argentina and Romania has also been found.

Media sources indicate that the data leak scandal investigation by JIT has been completed, and the report has confirmed the data theft of 2.7 million Pakistanis.

The joint investigative team has completed its investigation into the NADRA data leak scandal and has submitted the report to the Ministry of Interior for review.

It is said that citizens’ data was stolen from NADRA between 2019 and 2023, and offices of NADRA in Multan, Peshawar, and Karachi were found to be involved in the data leak scandal.

The head of the joint investigation team, Waqar-ud-Din Syed of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), led the investigation, and nominated officers from sensitive institutions, including NADRA, were also part of the JIT. Action against several senior officials of NADRA has been recommended.
