Islamabad: The first lunar eclipse of this year will occur on the night of March 25 at the Penumbra Lunar Eclipse. The lunar eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan.
During a lunar eclipse, the moon is covered by the Earth’s faint or outer shadow, making it difficult to observe.
Celestial phenomena will be visible in most countries of America, Europe, South/Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the northern and eastern parts of Asia.
According to Pakistan Standard Time (PST), the lunar eclipse will begin at 09:53 PST. The maximum eclipse will occur at 12:12 PST, and the penumbral eclipse will end at 14:32 PST on March 25, 2024.
The duration of the first lunar eclipse of 2024 will be four hours and forty minutes.
Previously, a partial lunar eclipse occurred on October 28 last year, which was also observed in Pakistan.
What is a Lunar Eclipse?
When the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, it casts a shadow on the moon’s surface, causing a lunar eclipse. It is an interesting phenomenon to observe as it can only occur during a full moon.
A partial eclipse ends when the moon emerges from the penumbra and returns to the penumbra.
