Drug Regulatory Authority Introduces Medicine Shortage Complaint Mobile App

Karachi: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has introduced a mobile application for the first time in the country to register complaints about the shortage and unavailability of medicines.

Through this application, individuals from various cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Jacobabad can register complaints regarding medicine shortages. Although this application can be downloaded nationwide, it has not yet been introduced in all cities.

This application not only provides information about the unavailability of medicines but also identifies which city is experiencing artificial shortages and hoarding.

The application, introduced under the name ‘Drug Shortage Reporting,’ has been kept extremely simple and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. It is not necessary to create an account to register a complaint on this application, but complainants must provide their identity card, mobile number, and name.

Complainants must also provide details such as the name of the city, the name of the medicine, and its dosage. While the general public can file complaints of medicine shortages through this application, medical store owners can also lodge complaints about the unavailability of medicines.
