Karachi: After enduring significant losses in the preceding two sessions, the Karachi Stock Exchange-100 Index (KSE-100) witnessed a remarkable turnaround, surging by 1.6% and surpassing the 65,000 mark on Thursday (Today).
Trading started on a positive note in the Pakistan Stock Exchange today, instilling confidence among investors.
The PSX 100 index saw an increase of 1015 points today, closing at 65064. During the trading day, the PSX 100 index remained within a band of 1125 points.
The positive sentiment was also bolstered by news of upcoming discussions between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Pakistani authorities regarding the second review of the $3 billion Stand-by Arrangement (SBA). Additionally, the Pakistani rupee showed marginal improvement against the US dollar.
In today’s trading session, transactions were made for 31 crore 52 lakh shares, valued at 10 billion 48 crore rupees, and the market capitalization increased by 139 billion rupees to reach 9 trillion 246 billion rupees.
