Karachi: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah has announced a Ramadan relief package worth Rs. 22.5 billion.
Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, a meeting was held to control prices during Ramadan, during which the Ramadan relief package was also announced.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Karachi, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Secretary of Finance, Additional Inspector General of Police, Commissioner Karachi, and other relevant officers. Commissioners and DIGs from other divisions participated in the meeting via video link.
A spokesperson stated that the Chief Minister has announced a Rs. 22.5 billion Ramadan package, under which 5,000 rupees in cash will be given to 60% of Sindh’s population.
According to the spokesperson, the Sindh Chief Minister has decided to provide relief to at least 440,000 families with the lowest incomes during Ramadan. The minimum monthly income is 34,000 rupees, and each such family will be given 5,000 rupees through banks during Ramadan
