Dubai: The ICC has released its new ODI rankings, with Babar Azam firmly positioned at number one.
According to official sources, the International Cricket Council has issued new rankings for all formats, in which Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam is prominently placed at the top in the batting rankings for One Day Internationals. He leads the points table with 824 points.
Following Babar Azam, India’s Shubman Gill holds the second position with 801 points, while Virat Kohli is in third place with 768 points, and Rohit Sharma is ranked fourth with 746 points.
In the batting rankings for the T20 format, Indian player Suryakumar Yadav is at the top spot with 861 points, followed by England’s Phil Salt in second place with 802 points, and Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan in third place with 800 points. After them, Babar Azam is positioned at the fourth spot.
In the Test match batting rankings, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam is at the fifth position.
Pakistan’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is ranked 11th in the Test rankings and seventh in the One Day rankings. Besides Shaheen Afridi, no other Pakistani player has made it to the top 15. No Pakistani player has been able to secure a place in the top 10 in the T20 format.
