Islamabad: Shehbaz Sharif took the oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the President House. The President of the country, Arif Alvi, administered the oath to the newly elected Prime Minister.
At the ceremony, along with members of Shehbaz Sharif’s family, important leaders of the party, and prominent members of the cabinet, Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Asif Zardari also participated.
The occasion of the swearing-in ceremony was also attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate.
Ministers from Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab also participated in the meeting. Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and other service chiefs were also in attendance.
The caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, sat to the left of President Arif Alvi.
It should be noted that the previous day in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif was elected as Prime Minister by securing 201 votes. His opponent, Omar Ayub Khan received 92 votes.
