Karachi: The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, said that the people of Karachi have completely rejected MQM, yet it is being imposed here.
Addressing a press conference at the Idara Noor-e-Haq regarding the general elections results, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that the results had started to come out, but Form 45 and 46 were stopped from being issued. The worst form of rigging was done in the results of Form 45 and 46.
He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is the party that received the most votes in the city. Throughout the city, Jamaat-e-Islami and PTI have received votes. In PS-91, Muhammad Farooq had succeeded with 23,000 votes, while in PS-91, MQM had received only 5,000 votes. He said the same MQM was allotted 88,000 votes in NA.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that the people of Karachi have rejected MQM, but it is being imposed in the city again. MQM did not even receive 5% of the votes in Karachi. MQM’s NA candidate Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan won the seat, but Jamaat-e-Islami won in PS. He alleged that MQM is being unjustly favored.
Hafiz Naeem said that PTI candidate Alamgir was shown to have received 11,000 votes in NA-236 and the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate was shown to have received 21,000 votes, while according to Form 45 and 46 they received a lot more votes than this.
He said that the seats we have won should be given to us. MQM is being imposed on the people of Karachi forcibly. Jamaat-e-Islami has Form 45 results, yet MQM is being imposed. The Election Commission is a spectacle before the whole world.
The chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi said that Jamaat-e-Islami would protest and hold sit-ins against the insult to the public mandate. We will spread the circle of protests against the insult to the public mandate throughout Pakistan.
He said if the mandate is seized repeatedly in this way, what message do the people want to convey? Karachiites are asking why bother with a Rs. 38 billion election if this harassment is to be continued. Jamaat-e-Islami will raise its voice for legal and legitimate rights.
